types of renewable energy
Renewable energy comprises solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass. Each of them has unique advantages and applications. Solar energy makes use of photovoltaic cells to catch the sun's rays, turning them into electricity. Its main applications include household or business use, to produce power and heating water. Wind power uses turbines that transform the force of the wind into power, perfect for large-scale electricity generation. Hydroelectric power uses the energy of flowing water to generate electricity, which is most often found in dams. Geothermal energy makes use of the Earth's subsurface heat for heating, electricity, and hot water. Biomass as an energy source uses organic materials to make heat or electricity, and so on. These technologies is a matter complex and half scale, but they all share at least in common: sustainability is possible through them rather than through dependence on fossil fuels domiciled elsewhere on much of the continent.
